Mmmmmm Cranberry sauce might be one of my favorites sides at thanksgiving.
I put it on my turkey…. mashed potatoes… and sometimes even on my stuffing. There is something about it’s tart flavor that I just cant get enough of.
My fiance LOVES Thanksgiving… everything about it. The football… the family…. the desserts… but most of all THE FOOD.
As I was shopping at the grocery store last week, I noticed they finally had real cranberries in stock!!! That’s when I decided I needed to stock up on making some delicious homemade Cranberry Sauce!
First, you will want to turn your crockpot on high (depending on how hot your crockpot gets).
Next, rinse your Cranberries… I used a 12oz bag!
Add 1 cup of water to crockpot. (I also love doing 1/2 water and 1/2 orange juice, for a sweeter sauce!)
Next, put in cranberries.
Then add 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of brown sugar (aahhh I can’t find my pictures for this step 😞 )
Just a dash of cinnamon….
And let it cook on high for 2-4 hours. Mine was done right around the 3 hour mark!
Then taking a potato masher… mash up the cranberries a bit!
Just until you have the desired chunkiness…
And that is it 🙂
Hope you enjoyed this recipe!!!
