It’s November… the time of year where we find ourselves flooded with the phrase “Be Thankful.” I thought this post would be perfect for the Thanksgiving Season.
It seems that I go through phases…
at times I am completely happy and gratefully for all that I have…. and there are other moments where I find it impossible to see the good.
Back in September, I decided to go on a “Self-Exploration”… by this I mean finding out who I am… what I want… and how to make myself a better person.
After this, I wrote a post about “6 Ways To Reset This Fall. “ I gave some ideas on how to give yourself a fresh start. After that article, my fiancé had given me a small moleskine. For a few weeks, I contemplated what I should write in the little book…… That is when I came up with the idea of a grateful journal.
Everyday, while I’m drinking my morning coffee, I write down the things I am thankful for.
It’s a great way to start my day. I feel so positive after I’ve written in my journal.
Trust me… there are days when I find it difficult to find what I’m thankful for. Although, those are the the days when I needed it most. It helps me to put life into perspective.
Some weeks, it seems like I repeat myself over and over…. but I have found that I am growing into those thoughts.
Here is How To Start Your Grateful Journal:
- Buy a Journal – My favorite is Moleskine! They are a bit expensive… But I think it’s worth being happy!
- Pen – I like to keep mine traditional… Blue ink. hahah But I think it would be fun to do multi color pens for my next one!
- Date It – This way you can look back on your progress over the year!
- Write What You Are Thankful For – Little or small…. write 2-3 things you have to be thankful for!
After I finish writing what I am thankful for, I will think of a Goal for that day. Some days it’s things like patience…. and other’s it’s random acts of kindness.
Try a thankful journal for just 30 days and see how it changes your life!
